MaheshwaraVaibhava is the dance drama entitled with the praising of lord Shiva. Shiva has stood as a savior for several lives and even for the god and goddesses. Few instances which witness this are: when he consumed the kalakuta (poison) during samudramanthana, protected Markandeya (devotee of Shiva) from the clutches of death, personified as Yama, Gangavatarana- bringing Ganga to the earth and held her in between his jate in order to protect the land.
