Academy of music & dance

Nadavidyalaya is been hailed as a unique institution in the cultural city Mysore, touching lives of art loving students and rasikas, sharing their dreams & aspirations with traditional art. Nadavidyalaya is the home for getting tutelage in Indian fine arts such as dance and music that is to be the spiritual & the agile by the distinguished gurus vidwan M.S.Naveen and vidushi Mithra Naveen.

Subjects provided in the institution are:

• Dance– Bharatanatyam, choreography, study of Yoga with Dance, Dance Dramas & Introduction of folk-styles.
• Music– Carnatic classical Vocal, Devotional songs, Patriotic songs, Bhavageete, Folk music.
• Keyboard in carnatic classical style of music.

Apart from fine-arts, Vidushi Mithra Naveen and Vidwan M.S. Naveen by their hard and dedicated work in Nadavidyalaya cogitate to their disciples giving them philosophical, spiritual and ethical values of life by making them complete human beings of culture and tradition.

The Academy gives intensive qualitative education and no doubt, has come up with great distinctions and laurels in classical vocal and Bharatanatyam be it competitions, exams or stage performances. Students are prepared to appear for junior, senior and vidwat examinations conducted by KSEEB every year.

Students of Nadavidyalaya are given the opportunity of regular stage performances which not only improves their performance, but also helps in building up their confidence level. Several students have been selected as graded artists of Doordarshan channels, and many have perceived through their Rangapravesha or Aarengetrums and even become individually skilled full dancers.

Every year, senior most and veteran artists are recognized and are felicitated with an esteemed award “KALAVATAMSA”.   Academy is proud of releasing CDs “NAMISU” in series on Bharatanatyam for the benefit of art enthusiasts. “NADANRITYOPASANA” Annual function is organized every year.  Educational trips for places related to dance and music is been arranged for students benefit over theoretical knowledge.

It is also the arena for concerts, workshops, lecture demonstrations, projects in molding students overall development.  Hundreds of students including foreign students are trained in Nadavidyalaya in Bharatanatyam, classical vocal & carnatic classical key-board directly and also through on-line.
